Description

In an era of multiple crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and the Russian Invasion of Ukraine, the 2023 Asia-Pacific SDG Partnership Report focuses on solutions at the nexus of energy, food and finance that can accelerate progress towards the SDGs. The report analyzes the confluence of transitions needed in these three intertwined systems, highlighting examples from the Asia-Pacific region, and providing policy recommendations to leverage the opportunities at this nexus to advance the SDGs in the region.

The report launch event will bring together the principals of the ESCAP-ADB-UNDP Asia-Pacific SDG Partnership, and will take place during the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD), in preparation for the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). A panel discussion with experts from the region will follow that will showcase transformations, innovative solutions and collaborations at the nexus of the food, finance and energy sectors that can advance the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda in the region.

Objectives

The event will bring together a diverse panel of leaders in Asia and the Pacific to reflect on the insights from the annual ESCAP ADB UNDP Asia Pacific SDG Partnership Report and consider how the SDGs can help us navigate these challenging times to ensure no one is left behind.
