Forest cover loss in South-East Asia and Indonesia, 2001–2016

Deforestation and forest degradation are major issues for countries across the Asia-Pacific region, but the problem is particularly alarming in Indonesia, where more than 227,000 square kilometres – more than twice the size of the Republic of Korea – were lost between 2001 and 2016.
