Asia-Pacific Sustainable Development Goals Outlook Report
The Asia-Pacific Sustainable Development Goals Outlook report examines each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and describes the outlook for achieving each one in the Asia-Pacific region at the outset of implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It singles out “bright spots” and “hot spots”, provides insights about each goal and points to emerging issues. It aims to develop a shared understanding of the opportunities and challenges that governments will confront as they work to develop appropriate responses to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
It is the first knowledge product under the SDG partnership between the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Aligning with the complexity of the SDGs, its preparation involved a multiple-disciplinary team of more than 100 experts, drawn mainly from the partner agencies, with contributions from various United Nations agencies.
